PRESIDENT JAMMEH FETES WITH PRIVATE SECTOR

The President His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya A J J Jammeh, Friday, graced with his presence the Annual Dinner and Award Night of The Gambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) held at the Senegambia Beach Hotel in Kololi. President Jammeh was presented with a gift in recognition of his leadership qualities and personal contribution to the Chamber.

In a brief dialogue President Jammeh called on the stakeholders to take steps that would make the private sector more vibrant, increase its contribution to socio-economic development and employment creation.

The President called for unity among stakeholders, pointing out that his Government has since 1994 been advocating the need for the country's private sector to come together and work for the development of the sector. 
 
He said the benefit of entrepreneurs working together to form alliances, mergers and consortium businesses is that they will become more productive and make it possible for the country to process and manufacture goods for export.
