The President of the Republic of The Gambia Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya AJJ Jammeh, acting under the provision of Section 71 (4) (b) of the Constitution of the Republic of The Gambia has relieved Dr Mariama Sarr-Ceesay of her Cabinet appointment with immediate effect.

In the same vein, His Excellency the President acting under the provisions of Section 71(1) and 71(3) respectively, of the Constitution of the Republic of The Gambia has reassigned Dr Mamadou Tangara as Minister of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology with effect from 24th April 2012. The Ministry of Fisheries, Water Resources and National Assembly Matters is now under the purview of the Office of the President.
