The African Development Bank regional resident representative base in the regional field office in Senegal Mr. Muhammed H'midouche on Monday paid a courtesy call to the President Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr. Yahya Jammeh at State House.
Shortly after his audience with the President Mr. H'midouche said that his visit to State House is to renew the bilateral cooperation between the African Development Bank and the Gambia Government and also to sign a loan agreement with the representative of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs regarding a supplementary loan amounting to 5 million Euro equivalent to 7.5 million dollars.
He said the loan is to finance a regional fisheries project in The Gambia. He went further to say that he was privilege to explain to the President about the objectives of the project and its expected outcome.
Mr. H'midouche added that the project will commence in the coming weeks and Gambians will have the opportunity to benefit greatly. He also said that he had the opportunity to talk to His Excellency the President about the ongoing projects funded by his Bank and projects on the pipeline with regards to the construction of the Sankulay bridge, the infrastructural project for the railway and other projects.
