The Minister of State and Special Adviser to the President of Guinea Bissau, Ebrima Camara, has said that they believe with the participation of the Gambian leader in collaboration with the international community, peace will be maintained in Guinea Bissau.
He said that his mission to the President was to convey message to the Gambian leader and also to give him some information pertaining to the event that took place on the 1st April this year, in Guinea Bissau.
According to him, The Gambia is a sister country to Guinea Bissau, therefore they cannot but send an envoy to meet with the Gambian leader after what happened there, considering his role in that country's peace process.
Guinea Bissau State Minister maintained that he also came to State House to seek the President's assistance in ensuring lasting peace in that country and to inform His Excellency President Jammeh of the desire of his Bissau Guinean counterpart,

to pay a state visit some time later to discuss with his Gambian brother matters that can enhance the bilateral relationship between the two countries.
He stated that the Gambian leader was pleased with the message brought to him and expressed his desire to receiving President

in the month of May. He took the opportunity to inform that the government of Guinea Bissau is functioning well. He maintained that the incident that happened a while ago was unfortunate but that there were no casualties. He there assured that they would start having dialogues to sort out issues rather than resort to arms.
Commenting on the restructuring of the security sector, he said the Gambian ambassador, who is also a member of the ECOWAS Restructuring process, in collaboration with local contacts of the United Nations are playing a vital role in that regard.
He was accompanied to State House by the Gambian Ambassador to Guinea Bissau.
