14th March 2007:

Valentin Ollessongo, the Ambassador designate of the Republic of Congo Brazzville to The Gambia, yesterday presented his credentials to the Gambian leader President Jammeh at State House.


Speaking to newsmen shortly after his audience with President Jammeh, Ambassador Ollessongo said his discussions with President Jammeh were centred on the chairmanship of his President, who presided over the AU Summit in The Gambia.

He said Congo and The Gambia have enjoyed a fruitful bilateral cooperations.  “You have Gambians in Congo and also, you have Congolese in The Gambia.  We also spoke on the free movement of goods between The  Gambia and Congo.  I am also glad to be received by President Jammeh and he has accorded to me a very warm welcome.
