The President Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr. Yahya Jammeh on Thursday, 5th November received in audience the new Cuban Ambassador to The Gambia.

Speaking shortly after presenting her letters of credence to President Jammeh, the Cuban Ambassador Ines Fors Fernandez said her discussions with President Jammeh centered on bilateral cooperation between the two countries, focusing mainly on public health, agriculture, and sports. She hailed the cordial relationship between The Gambia and Cuba.

In a separate engagement, a special envoy of the Senegalese President Abdoulie Wade paid a courtesy call on President Jammeh. Speaking to reporters the emissary Habib Sey who's the Head of the Senegalese Cabinet Habib Sey explained that his mission was part of efforts to consolidate bilateral relations between the Gambia and Senegal.
