FIVE DIPLOMATS PRESENTED LETTERS OF CREDENCE TO PRESIDENT JAMMEH

Five diplomats accredited to the Gambia presented their letters of credence to His Excellency the President Dr. Alhaji Yahya Jammeh at State House on Wednesday 15th February.

They are their Excellencies the Ambassador of Brazil Madam Katia, Ambassador Johannes Jasing of the Netherlands, Ambassador Yannis Lancouvar of Cyprus, /Frederick Daniel Laryea Ghana's High Commissioner and Parbati Fenvyas India's High Commissioner.

In an interview, Madam Kaita disclosed that while in the Gambia, she intends to work harder to ensure that the bilateral co-operation agreement on health, agriculture, sports and culture reached during President Jammeh's visit to Brazil is concretized.

Ambassador Johannes also said that his discussions with President centered on governance issues and on how to further strengthen the bilateral ties between Netherlands and the Gambia especially in the fields of water supply, maritime transportation and agriculture.

Ambassador Yannis Lancouvar also said that he discussed with President Jammeh ways of promoting the friendly relations of co-operation between Cyprus and the Gambia.

High Commissioner Frederick Daniel Laryae said he would work to further strengthen the relations of co-operation in the fields of education,security and trade between Ghana and the Gambia.

The India's High Commissioner Parbati Fenvyas said during their discussions, President Jammeh has expressed the desire to have more Indian investors and experts in various fields especially technology, health, trade and agriculture.
