Office of The Gambian President: State House Online: Yahya A.J.J. Jammeh

The President Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr. Yahya Jammeh Friday handed over 313 bags of sugar, 313 drums of 20 litre cooking oil and 192 bags of paddy rice to disaster coordinators for onward distribution to flood victims in the Western Region, Kanifing Municipality and Banjul.

Speaking at a brief ceremony held at the State House grounds, President Jammeh described the donation as a token contribution to the targeted victims. The Gambian leader reiterated government's resolve to ensure that waterways are not blocked saying that most of the disasters are man-made.

The Minister of Fisheries, Water Resources and National Assembly Matters, Lamin Kaba Bajo on behalf of the National Disaster Management Governing Council and Agency thanked the President for his generosity. He pray for Allah's continues protection and blessings for the president to enable him achieve his desired goals for the country.
