GUINEA BISSAU ENVOY CALL ON THE PRESIDENT

The President Alhaji Yahya Jammeh on Wednesday received in audience
a group of European investors based in the Czech Republic, Belgium,
United Kingdom and Spain.
In an interview with reporters after their audience with the President,
the head of the delegation who is also the chairman of GS Finance
Jacques Zghinou said they came to the Gambia on the invitation of
GIPZA with the view to promote The Gambia as a trading destination
to European investor for them to invest in the Country. He said
they have had a fruitful discussion with the President noting, they
have had an agreement with him on a partnership with Bather University
in Czech Republic for the exchange of students and teachers with
the University of the Gambia. He said they have also discussed with
him about investments in general covering the petroleum, communications
and Airlines. Jacques described The Gambia as a model for European
investors as well as model for democracy. He said President Jammeh
has assured them of the countrys full support.
