The President His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr. Yahya Jammeh on Wednesday received in audience in Kanilai, Bran Woodhulse, the Vice President of Exim Bank, an American Bank from North Carolina in USA. Mr Woodhulse was led to State House by Professor John Kester of Shaw University of North Carolina, who visited The Gambia few weeks ago when he and his colleagues awarded President Jammeh with a Distinguished Service Award.
Speaking to journalists shortly after meeting the Gambian leader, Professor Kester said he is in The Gambia with foreign partners like the Exim Bank to discuss with President Jammeh the way forward to develop the country. He disclosed that the President has tasked members to form a task force committee to discuss issues like the way forward to developing the seaport, airport and a cement factory, among other things. He expressed his good impression with the President for the fact that the President is honest and very determined in moving the country forward.
For his part, Mr. JT Kujabi, Ambassador at large, who accompanied them to State House, said the team is here for a feasibility study and on a fact-finding mission on areas of interventions upon agreement with the government.
He said they are investors who are ready to invest in our country in the future. "They will also see how to complement government's efforts in the economic development of our country," he stated.
