LADY MADAM ZEINEB JAMMEH MADE A HUMANITARIAN GESTURE TO SOCIAL
INSTITUTIONS

In yet another humanitarian gesture, the First Lady Madam Zeineb
Jammeh has donated several hundred bags of rice and sugar to many
social institutions across the country. The consignment was handed
over to the beneficiary institutions at a brief ceremony at State
House on Monday, attended by the Vice President, Secretaries of
State and Senior government officials.
In a brief statement on behalf of the government and the beneficiary
institutions in particular the Vice President Mrs Isatou Njie-Saidy,
applauded the gesture, describing it as a fulfillment of a religious
injunction and a demonstration of the virtues of caring and sharing.
"The gift have come against the background of the advent of
the holy month of Ramadan, which makes the time all the more significant,"
the Vice President underscored.
The recipients include the Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital, the
Serrekunda and Fajikunda health centres, the Psychiatric hospital
and the Jammeh Foundation for Peace Hospital.
