president Jammeh receives former Malaysian Finance Minister Tun Daim Zainnudin
21st June 2007:

The President Dr Alhagie Yahya Jammeh yesterday received at State House the former Malaysian Finance Minister Tun Daim Zainnudin. 

Shortly after his audience with President Jammeh Mr Zainnudin who is also, the founder and CEO of International Commercial Bank told reporters that his mission to State House was to wish President a happy belated birthday.  He said he also briefed President Jammeh on the status of a proposed housing development project.  The project he said would sell apartments and villas to foreigners.  Hon Zainnudin said President Jammeh has approved the allocation of land for the project, which he said, would also help develop tourism in the country.  He said the five-year project, which will cost a minimum of 250 million pounds, would be launched by February 18th 2008.  The Malaysian Business Tycoon also said he briefed the Gambian Leader on the status of his bank, the International Commercial Bank.
