THE GAMBIA LABOUR UNION October 3rd, 2002 His Excellency, President Your Excellency, I am directed by the Member of the National Executive Committee of the Gambia Labour Union to convey to you its congratulations on your good deeds towards some of the victims of the vessel “Le Joola” which sank last week off the shores of THE GAMBIA. It is understood that through Your Excellency’s good office, medical care was provided to those rescued by a GAMBIA registered fishing vessel. The Executive Committee of the Gambia Labour Union has also asked me to write and convey to you its profound appreciation of the prompt action you took in evacuating the National Football Team of Senegal, Sierra Leone and The Gambia caught in the civil strife in Bouake, Abidjan between Government troops and rebel forces. Mr. President for these good deeds, Africa salutes you, The Gambia salutes you, the whole world salutes you. Wishing you good health, long life and wishes of every success.
