The Grand Marabout of Gambisara in the Upper River Region Alhagie Bakary Conteh last Tuesday presented two suitcases of textile materials to His Excellency Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya Jammeh. The materials which are meant for the President's son Muhammed Jammeh were presented on behalf of the Grand Marabout by his daughter Aja Fatou Nana Conteh.

Presenting the materials to the President Aja Fatou Nana Conteh expressed her father's gratitude for the President's Tobaski gift and further spoke of their love and affection for Muhammed Jammeh.

Speaking on the occasion the Secretary of State for Tourism and Culture Nancy Njie said President Jammeh's efforts for the development of The Gambia is unprecedented. The Secretary of State for Local Government, Lands and Religious Affairs Ismaila Sambou for his part said it takes an honourable person to honour others, adding that this is what the Grand Marabout have realized. Both Secretaries of State expressed their appreciation and commended the Grand Marabout for the magnanimous gesture.

His Excellency Professor Yahya Jammeh upon receiving the gifts spoke of the long standing cordial relationship he has with Alhagie Bakary, noting that due to his love for the APRC party and The Gambia, the Grand Marabout uses his own resources during the annual dialogue with the people tour to host the Presidential delegation. President Jammeh commended the Grand Marabout for his invaluable support to the government and people of The Gambia, and extended his best wishes to the family and the entire people of Gambisara.
