Laurent Gbagbo, President of Cote d'Ivoire, arrives in Banjul Friday to grace the celebration of the 12th anniversary of the July 22nd Revolution. President Jammeh, Secretaries  of State and senior government officials, received the Ivoirian President at the Banjul International Airport around 5:00 p m. This is the second visit in three weeks by President Gbagbo to The Gambia, after attending the recent African Union Banjul Summit.

President Gbagbo's arrival coincides with the commencement of programme of activities marking the July 22nd celebration, with prayers at mosques across the country, and then a reception hosted by President Yahya Jammeh at the State House.
