3rd November 2002: The President of the Republic of Guinea General Lansana Conteh has invited the Gambian leader Dr. Alhaji Yahya Jammeh to attend the 4th Ordinary Session of the West African Monetary Union WAMU.
The meeting is scheduled to take place in Conakry on Thursday 7th November 2002. The Guinean Minister for co-operation Mory Kaba who was in Banjul on Saturday as special a special envoy of President Lansana Conteh delivered the invitation to President Jammeh.
The meeting is expected to discuss the convergence criteria of member states of the Union and how to effectively fulfil the criteria in the very near future. The Guinean Minister was accompanied to state House by Secretaries of State for the Interior, Trade and Industries Alhaji Ousman Badgie and Alahji Musa Sillah respectively.
