The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Integration Francophone of the Republic of Guinea, Bakary Fofana on Friday paid a courtesy call on His Excellency the President Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr. Yahya A.J.J Jammeh at State House.
Mr. Fofana, who was a special envoy of the interim President of Guinea, General Saikouba Conateh, told reporters after having audience with the Gambian leader that The Gambia and Guinea share many things in common especially culture and tradition. His purpose of coming to The Gambia, he informed was to deliver a message to the Gambian leader from the President of the Republic of Guinea containing an account of what transpired in Guinea.
He further noted that he had given President Jammeh an account of the first round of the presidential election that happened in that country acknowledging President Jammeh's immense contribution to the success of the first round.
He said President Saikouba Konateh has extended an invitation to His Excellency the President Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr. Yahya A.J.J Jammeh to undertake a working visit to the republic of Guinea.
