President Jammeh commences treatment of Hypertension
23rd August 2007:

President Yahya Jammeh on Thursday started the treatment of 55 people suffering from high-blood pressure (or hypertension), another killer-infection in the country.
The patients, who comprised 14 men and 41 female, assembled at Kanilai Village, the birthplace of President Jammeh, for the treatment.
Shortly after administering the medication to the patients, President Jammeh told the journalists that, this was not the first time for him to treat people suffering from high-blood pressure. He confirmed that he has been conducting the treatment before, saying that it was now that he came out publicly to help people suffering from the disease, based on humanitarian grounds.

President Jammeh added that he is very certain that he can cure the disease.
“I have cured it and it works. This is not the first time that I have cured people suffering from the disease. As I said before, if I start anything, I have to test it first in the presence of all, before I start to give it to people. Before I used to cure the members of my family. It works and it has worked before I started taking care of the members of my family. I test the medication for everyone to see, even though I am not suffering from the disease,” he said.

The Gambian leader then pointed out that “this medication is for high-blood pressure only, but can cure other things in peoples' bodies. He said he did not give the medication to patients to take home, as there are people who may try to put something in the medication so that if the person drinks it and dies, they will say, it is the President's medicine that kills him”.

“Some people are very careless and may not take good care of the medication. And if they are allowed to go with it, someone can put something in it, which you may not know. So, I don't give the medicine to patients to take it to their homes,” he stated. However, he disclosed that he used to give the medicine to people to take it home. “You take the medication once and it will be out of your bodies. I am sure the treatment is very effective and I am certain I can cure it,” he affirmed.

He further advised the people to go for old diets, and then noted that patients should try to control their diets by reducing things like salt, jumbo, mayonnaise, among other things.
President Jammeh further revealed that possibly before the end of this year, he would try to cure cancer. He said he also got a cure for diabetes-ulcer, which when a person takes, there will be no need for amputation.

Shortly, after their medications, the patients' blood pressures were checked, showing that it's dramatically dropped, compared to the time before they took the herb.
Ida Corr, one of the patients, said,“As you could see we are sweating a lot. We are feeling hot. We have been with hypertension for long time, but today we are alright, thanks to the President's treatment. We pray that President Jammeh stays long in power and may Almighty Allah help him to achieve his aims and objectives.”
