PRESIDENT JAMMEH CONFIRMS BRIKAMA OPPOSITIONS DEFECTION

The Gambian leader President Yahya Jammeh has said that the warm welcome accorded to him in Brikama on Friday, day 15 of his dialogue with the people tour was a manifestation of the assertions that the Brikama opposition supporters have now switch allegiance to the ruling APRC party.

The Brikama meeting according to many was the well attended meeting of his dialogue with the people tour in living memory. It was for the first time that President Jammeh himself stood up from his seat to calm people panting and yelling with banners and placards written “Jammeh For Life”, “Jammeh For Prosperity” to no avail.

In his speech, President Jammeh said the crowd was a manifestation that Brikama have now shown their real colour to him and the APRC party. He said if given another five years mandate 95 percent of his incoming projects will go to Western Division.

Many speakers at the meeting called for no future elections in The Gambia saying President Jammeh is the answer to the progress of The Gambia.

The Gambia leader also held rallies in Basori and Gunjur which hundreds of opposition supporters defected to the ruling APRC.

Speaking in Basori, Yakouba Touray, APRC national mobilizer and Secretary of State for Agriculture disclosed that the July 22 Business Park at the Banjul International Airport upon completion will provide 100,000 jobs to Gambian youth.

SOS Yankouba Touray said the business park which is a cloth making factory costs USD6 million. He said the business park will be operational within the next five years. He said Government will also put in place a mango processing factory that will create a lot of job opportunity for Gambians.
