President Jammeh and his visiting Guinea Bissau guest President Joao Bernado Vieira wave to the gathering during airport ceremonies on President Vieira's arrival for a four day visit to Banjul Friday, 18th April 2008. President Vieira is met on arrival by President Jammeh, Vice President Njie-Saidy, the Speaker of the National Assembly, the Chief Justice, Secretaries of State, National Assembly members and senior government officials.
President Nino Vieira flanked by President Jammeh in the presidential convoy receives a cheering welcome from a magnitude of Gambians lined up from the airport via Lamin - Abuko - West Field, Kairaba Avenue and along Garba Jahumpa Road, the Daily Observer junction to the Ocean Bay Hotel.
Kanilai village elders are introduced to President Vieira after he was received on the outskirts of Kanilai by President Jammeh Saturday, during a visit of facilities in President Jammeh's home village.
The presidential convoy enters Kanilai with a tumultulous welcome from a large crowd of Gambians accompanying it.
The two Presidents stand during the play of the two national anthems by the police band at a state banquet hosted by President Jammeh in honour President Vieira at the Kairaba Beach Hotel.  Presidents Jammeh and Vieira are flanked on the high table by Madam Senhora Dona Isabel Romano Ferreira Vieira, VP Njie-Saidy and senior govt. officials during the play of the two national anthems at the state banquet.  President Jammeh at a tete-a-tete meeting with President Vieira Monday morning at State House. The two leaders later presided over the signing ceremony of the Gambia-Bissau Joint Communique and also attended a press conference. The two leaders stand in the presidential dais to receive the national honours during the departure of President Vieira at the airport Monday afternoon.  President Vieira inspects the guard of honour flanked by President Jammeh during his departure at the airport.
