The President, His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya AJJ Jammeh has said that the business community should be God fearing and reduce the high price of basic commodities in the holy month of Ramadan.
The Gambian leader was speaking at the Banjul International Airport upon arrival from Libya where he attended the Special AU Summit on Conflict Resolution, and the 40th anniversary of the Al-Fatah Revolution.
President Jammeh advised Gambians to venture into business and to be sympathetic to fellow citizens.
Speaking about the summit, President Jammeh said many important issues were discussed; among them plans on how to restore peace in Chad, Sudan and other troubled regions in Africa.
President Jammeh further said that peace and stability are very significant in the meaningful development of any nation. He further noted that the AU is working hard to see to it that measures are put in place that will end conflicts in Africa.
The Gambian leader was welcomed by a high powered delegation including the Vice President, Aja Dr Isatou Njie Saidy, Speaker of the National Assembly, Cabinet Ministers, among others.
