Thank you for your letter dated 4th June 2012 (Ref: OP/282/05/TEMP:VI(177-JMF) on above subject.
Please extend to the President of the Republic of The Gambia, His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya A.J.J. Jammeh and the First Family, most sincere best wishes on my behalf and on behalf of The Gambia Golf Association (GGA).
It is with great humility, pride and gratitude that I receive your letter confirming His Excellency's acceptance of our invitation, to be the Chief Patron of the 2012 Gambia open and Pro-Am and his representation by the Hon Minister of Youth and Sports at the event. Without doubt, His Excellency lending his patronage to the event has guaranteed its success, as we prepare to receive at least 15 Nigerian participants, as well as our cousins from Senegal.
Please allow me to take this opportunity to also congratulate President Jammeh on being the recipient of the prestigious 2012 Golden Palm Africa for Peace Award, in recognition of His Excellency's outstanding contribution and achievements in the promotion of human rights, gender equality, peace and solidarity in Africa.
We pray to the Almighty Allah for His Excellency the President's continued good health, strength and unfailing wisdom as he steers our peaceful nation along the right path.
Please accept the assurances of my highest consideration and esteem.
Ebrima Jawara
President of GGA

Dear Your Excellency,
I would first of all like to congratulate you on your stupendous victory in the 2011 Presidential election.
Your coming to power in 1994 was a salvation for The Gambia and her people because the country was abandoned by the leadership of the first republic at the 5th PPP congress from the 4th-7th December 1991 at Mansakonko when Sir Dawda declared that he does not want to offer himself as a presidential candidate for the 1992 presidential election slated for the 11th May 1992. Culturally speaking, this day 4th December 1991 was the day God took the mantle of leadership from Sir Dawda, because it was he himself who made the declaration that he is tired and needed a rest. This tantamount to the abandonment of his responsibilities as President. Since that day 4th December 1992, the country was just floating without a substantive leader.
God brought you on Friday 22nd July 1994 to captain the floating ship/country and give it a direction.
Since then the country was rescued and put on focus coupled with unprecedented economic, social, cultural and infrastructural developments by your government under Your Excellency's stewardship and guidance.
Your resounding victory at the November 2011 Presidential polls has translated positively in the National Assembly Elections in 2012, giving your party Alliance for Patriotic, Re-orientation and Construction (APRC), 98% of the National Assembly seats.
All these victories by you and your party show that Gambians are satisfied with your government's performance.
I wish to thank God, the Almighty, for me to be associated with your cultural and heritage programmes since 1998 and to thank you for allowing me to participate as Secretary to the Gambia African Kanilai International Cultural Festival which was later changed to Kanilai International Cultural Festival.
I wish to thank Your Excellency for the letter of gratitude and appreciation Ref:0P/353/02/PART VI/(89) dated 2nd May 2007 from your high office commending me for my courage and determination which has served me as inspiration to do more.
I also wish to thank you, Your Excellency for giving me the National Order MRG.
On behalf of my two wives and several children including your namesake Yahya Jammeh Junior Sanneh who was born on the 17th June 2001 and on my own behalf, I wish to thank you for these honours and letters of appreciation given to me for appreciating my small efforts as a person.
We wish to pray for your good health, long life and continued prosperity, eternal blessing and protection from the Almighty Allah. Amen.
Yours sincerely
Demba E M Sanneh
Secretary
