MESSAGES OF APPRECIATION TO PRESIDENT JAMMEH

Anthouman Sahor, former Minister of Fisheries Water Resources and National Assembly Matters has expressed gratitude to His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr. Yahya Jammeh for according him the opportunity to serve the country under his administration and for pardoning and releasing him from detention.

In a similiar vein one Mucktarr M.Y. Darboe of Kerr Gawlo Junction, Essau-Kerewan Highway in Upper Niumi District, Nana Grey-Johnson of Kanifing, Mamadi Faal of Albreda Village in Upper Niumi, North Bank Region, Colonel Bora Colley Commander Special Force and Alhagie Babou Sarr of Lamin Village have also expressed appreciation to the President for having conferred on them national medals as well as his endless efforts in the development of The Gambia.

The messages read:

"Your Excellency,

I avail my humble self of this opportunity to express my sincere appreciation and profound gratitude to you for pardoning me and for my release from detention. I renew my total commitment and unwavering loyalty to you and your noble ideals.

Your Excellency, I consider myself as one of the most privileged Gambians to enjoy your kindness and trust since you took over the reins of our beloved country on 22 July 1994. Under your able statesmanship, I have served you diligently and faithfully in high positions of Government as the first Lord Mayor of Banjul in the second Republic and as Gambian Ambassador to Taiwan, Sierra Leone, Guinea Bissau, Senegal and the Kingdom of Qatar. I also served as the Senior Administrative Secretary of the APRC and as Chief Technical Adviser for the African Union Summit, and as Minister of Fisheries, Water Resources and National Assembly Matters. I was fortunate to served you continuously from 1994 to 2010. Your Excellency, I cannot thank you enough for the privilege you bestowed on me.

Your Excellency, I once again pledge my total allegiance to you and my willingness and readiness to serve you always, at your calling. I will continue to pray for you and your family and that Almighty Allah continues to bless and guide you to the attainment of the vision you have for The Gambia. May Almighty Allah give you long life, good health and continued prosperity.

Your Excellency, please kindly accept the assurance of my highest consideration."

Mucktarr M.Y. Darboe of Kerr Gawlo Junction, Essau-Kerewan Highway writes:

"Dear Sheikh Professor,

I greet you in the name of Allah, most Beneficent; the most Merciful hoping and praying that Allah – the Almighty grants your efforts with enormous triumph and prosperity in this world as well as in the hereafter. You have never stopped to amaze, inspire and motivate me by your efforts at developing The Gambia and making it the envy of all. The signs are very explicit and unequivocal to the extent that even the blind men see them crystal clear.

I accept this opportunity with the greatest pleasure, utmost delight and the most profound gratitude for having accepted and granted approval to my request for fellowship to pursue a Master of Science and Technology Policy at the University of Sussex in the United Kingdom. This news did not come to me as a surprise because I knew you will be more incredible, as you always exercise reason, I knew you will be more just, because you have always used intellect. You have been a very courageous leader and this is clearly indicated by your heroism in national, regional and international platforms. You will be much loved and appreciated by Gambians by virtue of your miraculous achievements and you will attain higher authority and power through your good name.

I call you the epitome and zenith of hope, the stucco of probity and prosperity, savior of our people. The exceptional virtues you possess knows no limits. Your efforts to place Gambia at the cutting edge global frontier will yield fruition in the long run as current efforts of your government are definitely on the right track. With current trends of your development agenda, the Vision is sure to be achieved before 2020.

I would like to reassure Your Excellency, the fullest and unflinching support of my kith, kin and beyond to you and to the government of The Gambia in the struggle to make our beloved country a model for the rest of the developing world. I wish to pray for your continuous health and may the Almighty Allah grant your efforts with enormous success in this world as well as the hereafter.

Your Excellency, please accept the assurances of our continuous prayers for you and your progeny to continue ruling this Country for the next thousand years.

Mamadi Faal of Albreda Village writes:

"Your Excellency,

It is with a deep sense of humility that the Alkalolu of Juffureh and Albreda villages and my family join me in conveying our most sincere gratitude to Your Excellency for the conferment of National Award of ORG on my humble self.

Your Excellency, these awards are a shining example of your love for the entire Gambian populace because such awards were only meant for the few elites within the system before the July 22nd Revolution.

Sir, you have set a pace for national development and all patriotic citizens have a moral duty to join you in this endeavour.


Contributing my small quota to this clarion call is my responsibility and as such, this award will strengthen my continuous love for you and for my country The Gambia.

I avail myself this opportunity to extend my mother's (Aja Mbinkinding Kinteh) sincere and heartfelt prayers for you and your entire family.  She is one of those whom you helped both morally and materially during last year's Hajj.  She remains ever grateful for this help offered to her and her colleagues in every rite of the Hajj.

Your Excellency this calculated decisition of yours come to me as a surprise to some extent, however knowing the type of leader you are and also considering your high enthusiasm to motivate and reward hard working, honest, patriotic and loyal Gambians, i have no doubt in my mind that you can do more than this for deserving citizins.

Your Excellency Sir, I felt greatly overwhelmed and highly dignified with the award, however i take it as a challenge for me to work harder with absolute loyalty in the best interest of the Gambian bation on our journey to realization of the goals of vision 2020 in which every Gambian have a crucial role to play.
