We have been saddened to learn that Hurricane Ivan struck your country, recently resulting in a number of deaths and leaving a trail of massive destruction.

In these trying circumstances I would like to convey to you, the bereaved families and to the people of Jamaica, the deep sympathy of the people of The Gambia.
