GAMBIAN COAT OF ARMS

Background Information

Since the inception of the President's Alternative Treatment Programme on the 17th day of January 2007, this laudable initiative has contributed immensely to the improvement of the health status of Gambians in particular and the human populace in general.

People from all walks of life, all over the world have been treated with different health predicaments ranging from HIV/AIDS, diabetes, asthma, hypertension, stroke, sickle cell anemia, infertility, impotency amongst others, some of which were once believed to be incurable diseases/illnesses.

The President, His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Doctor Yahya A.J.J. Jammeh, by using naturally available forest products such as fruits, leaves, branches and roots of trees (most of which come from abroad), was able to debunk the notion that most of the afore-mentioned ailments were  incurable.

However, the declaration of his ability to cure the merciless HIV/AIDS that has,  for many years,  been, and still is,  troubling  the minds of mankind as it discriminates and affects the young, old, poor, rich, the high and the low was responded  to with vigorous challenge from the outside world.

His Excellency's breakthrough announcement on the 17th January, 2007, attracted notable international media institutions from all over the globe such as CNN, BBC, Aljazeera, just to name a few, who were all present with the sole intention of proving our selfless leader wrong.

However, His Excellency's gifted extensive knowledge from the Supreme God in the field of herbs left them speechless as evidenced, beyond reasonable doubt, that the President is indeed able to cure the once incurable HIV/AIDS.

Representatives of the above international media institutions were also privileged with the opportunity to be hosted in a press conference where their doubts were further cleared. They left, startled that an African man from a rich African heritage, solved what the so-called superior whites have always deemed unsolvable.

Since then, thousands of people around the world, faced with stigma and discrimination, handicapped or bedridden by poor health, thus rendering them less useful and unproductive in their respective societies, have been coming forward to benefit from this worthy initiative by our dear selfless leader, at no cost, regardless of race, ethnic group, gender, religion, nationality, tribe or political affiliations.

Owing to the exceptional love, generosity and keen interest he attaches to the well being of his compatriots in particular and mankind as a whole, he expanded the treatment programme further by employing highly trained medical professionals led by Dr. Tamsir Mbowe, all geared towards injecting lasting happiness in the minds of the depressed and sick. As of now, he has erected a self-funded standard health facility just to extend a helping hand to the less fortunate.

We are pleased to intimate that as at now, God has blessed our medical myth and, through his initiative, infertile women have delivered healthy bouncing babies from various households around the world. Tens of thousands who were also treated of various ailments are now engaged in meaningful activities and making valuable and necessary contributions in the many sectors of the country's economy as we strive to achieve our Vision 2020 goals. It is worth noting that an overwhelming score of individuals are still on the waiting list.

It is to be recalled that the President's stance to move this nation forward has been unwavering and resolute as his intervention in the field of health puts special emphasis on quality and affordable care  due to his commitment  to help alleviate the worries of people  especially those related to their health status.  He is constantly and tirelessly working with researchers in the herbal medicine field towards the restoration of peoples' health.

It is of great significance for all to know that the free treatment programme of our dynamic and peace-loving President, His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Doctor Yahya A.J.J. Jammeh is still in progress and registration of aspiring beneficiaries is ongoing at the clinic in Bakau. Detailed information on the registration and treatment duration of various health conditions is available at our website on www.patp.gm.

The programme was initiated by His Excellency Sheikh Professor Doctor Alhaji Yahya A.J.J. Jammeh with the sole aim of aiding people with medical ailments conceptualized as incurable by the wider world. His efforts to break the medical myth was supported by very few in the beginning but it is worth mentioning that over four hundred and twenty-five (425) babies have been delivered  from couples  once  regarded as  infertile.

Also, the stigma and discrimination attached to HIV/AIDS no longer exist in the Gambian society. This news shook many critics who believed His Excellency was just seeking attention to strengthen his political powers. Some even went further to say that he wanted money, not knowing that all the expenses of the treatment programme solely harbored on his shoulders. His Excellency, as a believer, ignored all negative comments and continued his pursuit in helping the sick. With more evidence of treated patients, many others joined in the fight including medically trained professionals.

The President's Treatment Programme continues to gain recognition over the years. It is to be recalled that when the treatment programme began with HIV/AIDS, only a few were fortunate to be amongst the first batch of patients due mainly to the stigma attached to the predicament; only a few were bold enough to surface and face reality. The first breakthrough was hailed by a very good number of patriots and well-wishers who converged at the July 22nd Square, to applaud the President for a worthy initiative.

The program continues to expand with great speed as many other medical myths were conquered. At every breakthrough anniversary, new discoveries are announced. Over thousands of people were treated from the afore-mentioned and thousands more are on the waiting list. These include Gambians and non-Gambians alike.

When the infertility programme was put across to the people, it was welcomed with great surprise as the first batch broadcasted on the national TV revealed some scary/supernatural occurrences involving the President's relative who serves as an assistant without fear. His Excellency continued to battle the evil powers that possess women, thus preventing them from reproducing. This battle continued until a large majority of Gambians pleaded with him to cease fighting with the evil powers because it is believed that these powers can take revenge on him or his future generations.

Thousands of women have since been treated for infertility over the years and recently, another batch was discharged in Kanilai, most of whom conceived and delivered safely of babies named after the President, his family members and other prominent Gambians. Thousands more are still on the waiting list.

Among the new discoveries are the treatment for ulcer, sickle cell, arthritis and stroke. Impotency treatment has also been discovered, but due to the nature of this ailment, it is always treated in private.

More discoveries are however pending and will be reported in due course.

The programme has been recently renamed the President's Alternative Medical Treatment Programme, and the clinic, The Kanilai Alternative Clinic, is located at Sait Matty Road in Bakau.
