Professor Andreas L. Steigen, Vice Chancellor of the University of The Gambia accompanied by Fatou Lamin Faye, Secretary of State for Education yesterday paid a courtesy call on President Jammeh at State House.
Speaking to journalists shortly after his tete-a-tete with the Gambian leader, Professor Andreas said his visit to President Jammeh was meant to inform him on what is happening at the University and the initiatives they have taken.
“I also informed the President of the status of the law programme and the enrolment of students at the University as to how many application we received. We will do all we can within the limited powers to keep standards according to the regulations as far as the University entrance requirement is concern. It is not what you put in, but what you get out with. We don't compromise our entrance requirements”.
Professor Steigen also said that his discussion with the President centered on the new University Master plan. |
